House Roll Call: Challenge to NSA fails

Categories. Market research firm Harris Interactive conducts a fairly extensive poll each year in the area of consumer electronic brands. This year, Apple again took the top spot in three major categories, named the best brand of tablet, computer, and mobile phone. The iPad, Mac, and iPhone scored the best across an array of specific brand markers, like brand recognition, emotional response to the brand, and purchasing consideration. The survey measured the perceptions of over 38,500 US consumers across more than 1,500 brands in over 155 categories. Whew. Apple blew past the competition, which included HP, Dell, and Sony in the computer category, as well as Google and Samsung in the tablet category. Apple also won the top brand spot over HTC, Samsung, and LG in the mobile phone category. Americans continue to give Apple brands strong ratings, said senior vice president Manny Flores in a statement.

At the very least, you're giving away your email address. MaskMe is a browser extension that lets you hide your information. MaskMe essentially creates a dummy account that forwards one bit of personal information to another. So, if you use MaskMe to create an email address, it creates a fake one so you can register at a web site, and then forwards emails to your real one. This way, no service has all of your data in one place. The same basic process also works for phone numbers and credit card numbers, but you'll need to pay a $5/month fee to use those services.

Have a pen and paper or your keyboard handy to take notes. Thank the person for his/her time and contribution. Send a follow up e-Mail with a brief summary of the discussions and/or next steps. Agreements, decisions or next steps should be summarized at the end of the call, but may get forgotten if not noted. At the same time, this is an opportunity to thank the person again. This may help build a relationship for the future. Smile.
